The name says it all. Not just a wise owl - but a firewise owl. Burnie-The FireWise Owl. In many Native American traditions, including the local Yokut tradition, I believe, when the owl appears to you, it is a good, life-giving omen. Just so with our OTFSC logo.
Burnie is FireWise. He is not consumed by the flames. And by Burnies presence we are reminded of the good that comes from paying attention to the many ways of reducing the risk to our homes and families – improving the prospects of passing through a wildfire unscathed as suggested by our logo (and possibly even improving our prospects of affordable fire insurance on our homes!!). The wise survive.
